Wycombe Wanderers welcome Bournemouth to Adams Park this weekend as they go head to head in the Championship.

The Chairboys must win and hope for a Derby loss to take their survival hopes into the final day of the season.

This will be the 27th meeting between the two sides, with the first coming in the FA Cup in 1974, in a game that ended a 0-0 draw.

It’s not a game that has been played too often recently, with just three games between the teams in the last 10 years.

Wycombe don’t have the best recent record against Bournemouth either, losing their last four games against them.

How will Saturday’s game play out, though?

Wycombe Wanderers Form

A Keiffer Moore double meant that Gareth Ainsworth’s side came out on the wrong side of a 2-1 score-line against Cardiff City last weekend.

They have won three of their last six games, though, picking up 10 points from a possible 18. They now find themselves in ninth place in the form table.

The Chairboy’s have been inconsistent at home recently, winning one game before losing the next, then winning the following game is something that’s happened for the last seven games at Adams Park.

Bournemouth Form

The Cherries were defeated by fellow play-off competitors 1-0 last time out, despite playing against 10 men for 40 minutes.

They had won the five games prior to that, though, accumulating 15 points from 18. That means they currently sit at the top of the form table.

Bournemouth have been very good on the road recently as well, winning each of their last four away games.

Our Picks For Wyc Picks – Wycombe Wanderers v Bournemouth

In Focus

1. Will Wycombe Wanderers beat Bournemouth? No

The Bournemouth players may well have their focus on the players and will be hoping not to get injured and with everything to play for, for Wycombe who knows what can happen.

The thing is, Bournemouth could still have too much quality for The Chairboys but it certainly is an intriguing game.

2. Will Wycombe Wanderers score in the first half? No

Joe Jacobson scored from the spot last time out to take Wycombe into half-time on level terms.

The thing is, they have an awful record in the opening 45 at home. With just six goals from 22, they are currently averaging 0.27 goals scored per first half at home.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth have kept a clean sheet in the first period in 64% of their games on the road this campaign.

3. Will Wycombe score in the second half? Yes

The Chairboys have scored in the closing 45 in three of their last five games, and it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise for them to do it again at the weekend.

They have still only found the net in the second half in just 41% of their home games, however, with what’s at stake, they will find a way to score.

It won’t be easy, though, as Bournemouth have conceded just 11 from 22. That’s an average of 0.5 goals against per second period on the road.

4. Will Wycombe keep a clean sheet? No

Ainsworth’s side have failed to keep the opposition out in each of their last four games.

They have a better defensive record at home, though, keeping seven clean sheets at Adams Park this campaign.

The thing is as well, Bournemouth have failed to score in just 23% of their league games on the road this season.

5. How many goals will Wycombe Wanderers score? 1

Despite not having the greatest goal-scoring record, Wycombe have still scored in each of their last six games.

It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to score exactly one goal either, as they have done so in 55% of their home games this campaign.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth have kept six clean sheets and conceded 21 goals from 22 matches. That means they are currently averaging 0.95 goals against per away game.

6. How many goals will Wycombe Wanderers concede? 1

The last time these two sides met, Bournemouth took all three points whilst scoring just the one goal.

It’s something that happens quite often as well, as they have scored exactly once in 36% of their away games.

On the other hand, Wycombe have conceded 28 goals from 22 matches, which is an average of 1.27 goals against per home game.

  • How many goals will Uche Ikpeazu score? 0
  • Will Gareth McCleary score? No
  • Will Fred Onyedinma assist a goal? No
  • Will Joe Jacobson score? No
